Market Square Coffee Book Club: To Kill a Mockingbird, Market Square Coffee (118 Market House Square, Paducah), 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., free.
Join the Market Square Book Club (meets 3rd Monday of every month at 1 p.m.) for a delicious brew and a lively discussion of To Kill A Mockingbird. Part of the National Endowment for the Arts program, The Big Read.

Join Ms. Retta, Bob Dog, and Ms. Cherri as they share with young and old alike in their special program of stories, puppets, and songs. Each program is designed for preschoolers and their caregivers. Tuesdays.

Join local businesswomen in a fun networking atmosphere and, this month in honor of The Big Read, some lighthearted discussion about To Kill A Mockingbird. Our favorite bartographer Brian Steffen will be serving special Tequila Mockingbirds, and we'll have free books and other goodies. Be Haunted by History This Month @ Your Library! More Kentucky Ghosts is a presentation by Lynwood Montell, Western Kentucky University Folk Studies Professor Emeritus & author. Much of Kentucky's rich historical legacy is preserved in ghost stories. Montell's talk will also discuss the historic value of hearing and preserving Kentucky's verbal legacy. Complement your reading and enjoyment of To Kill A Mockingbird with a free movie at the Library. Every Saturday during the month of October, the Library will show the 1962 version of To Kill A Mockingbird, starring Gregory Peck. Join old or new friends afterward for coffee downtown and a discussion comparing the movie with the book. Part of the National Endowment for the Arts program, The Big Read.

MHT River City Ghost Tour: Legends & Lore, Market House Theatre (132 Market House Square, Paducah), 6 p.m., aprox. $14.
Walk through historic Downtown and LowerTown and discover Paducah's haunted past in Market House Theatre's River City Ghost Tour: Legends and Lore. All ticketholders must be ages 6 and up. Tours last approximately 40 minutes and leave on the half hour starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. Tickets on sale beginning September 15.
