The Lucky One by Nicolas Sparks: Bookends Book Club, Graves County Public Library (601 N. 17th Street, Mayfield, KY), 5:30 p.m., free.
New members are invited to attend and to join in the lively book discussions. Copies of the book are on loan from the Library and members read it prior to the meeting. The Book Ends Reading Club meet the 1st Monday of the month (except for holidays).

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell Book Signing, The Carson Center (Upstairs Lobby, Kentucky Ave., Paducah), 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Senator Mitch McConnell will be in Paducah to sign copies of Republican Leader, a biography of the senator written by John David Dyche. The McCracken County Republican Women will host the signing in the upstairs lobby. Karen Welch, owner of New Life Christian Book Store in Murray, is selling the books for $25 plus tax.
