A farewell to the Summer Program and a celebration for the Summer Reading Challenge participants. Prizes will be given to the Summer Reading Challenge winners.

48 Hour Film Project Deadline, Maiden Alley Cinema (112 Maiden Alley, Paducah).
Today's the deadline for entry into the 48 Hour Film Project, a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team write, shoot, edit and score a movie in just 48 hours. On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. It will show at Maiden Alley Cinema, usually in the next week. The local winner goes on to the national competition. All children should be accompanied by an adult. Mother Goose is a program in which your child will participate in activities geared towards young readers. It will include books, games, and crafts. This is a great way to introduce your child to the world of reading!

Express Yourself: Young Adult Summer Reading Program, Marshall County Library (3 locations: 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY; 23 Park Road, Calvert City, KY; and 104 2nd Street, Hardin, KY), free.
For students who are going to be in the 7th through 12th grade this fall. Sign-up at the circulation desk of your favorite branch of the Marshall County Public Library. Be Creative @ Your Library, Calloway County Public Library (710 Main Street, Murray, KY), sessions at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., free (but registration is required).
Participants must choose one session and participate in that session for the duration of the program. Participants can NOT switch sessions from week to week. All programs are filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration will continue until sessions are filled. To register please return a completed form to the library.
