Join the Market Square Book Club (meets 3rd Monday of every month at 1 p.m.) for a delicious brew and a lively discussion of The Necklace by Cheryl Jarvis.

Story Time: Travels with Bob Dog, McCracken County Public Library (555 Washington St., Paducah), 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., free.
Each program is designed for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Chick Flick Series: Bridget Jones’s Diary, Maiden Alley Cinema (112 Maiden Alley, Paducah), 6 p.m., $25.

Graves County Public Library Story Hour (601 North 17th Street, Mayfield, KY), 10 a.m.-11 a.m., free.
Hear story books, sing silly songs, play games, make nifty crafts and eat goodies! Parents are invited to help children with the crafts and the refreshments. Please call the library at (270) 247-2911 to enroll your child. Every Thursday morning.

Free Movie Night: The Soloist, Maiden Alley Cinema (112 Maiden Alley, Paducah), 6 p.m., RSVP, free.
Enjoy The Soloist, starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. Based on a true story (and the book by Steve Lopez) of a gifted, homeless musician who suffers from schizophrenia, it's a powerful and moving story of friendship. Jointly sponsored by NAMI Paducah (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and PAMHAC (Purchase Area Mental Health and Aging Coalition). Reception with music, 6-7 p.m. Food and drinks sponsored by Lourdes Hospital. Movie begins at 7 p.m. Please bring a canned food. RSVP to Jan at (270) 442-6475, by Jan. 20.
