Ongoing Events
September 1 through September 2
48 Hour Film Project Screenings, Maiden Alley Cinema (112 Maiden Alley, Paducah), 7 p.m., $5 general admission.
The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which pre-registered teams make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours. On Friday night, the teams get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in their movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. If it isn't received by 7:30 on Sunday evening, then it cannot be considered for the top prize. The City Winner will be screened at Filmapalooza, the official 48HFP Awards Weekend. In 2008, some 30,000 filmmakers made films in 70 cities. This year, we're even bigger, with filmmakers around the world taking the challenge to make a film in just 48 hours. Call (270) 441-7007 for info.
