48 Hour Film Project Deadline, Maiden Alley Cinema (112 Maiden Alley, Paducah).
Today's the deadline for entry into the 48 Hour Film Project, a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team write, shoot, edit and score a movie in just 48 hours. On Friday night, you get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in your movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. It will show at Maiden Alley Cinema, usually in the next week. The local winner goes on to the national competition. Events for July 6 Through July 12
Missoula Children’s Theatre Auditions & Workshop: Alice in Wonderland, Luther F. Carson Center (100 Kentucky Ave., Paducah), 9:30a.m. to 12 p.m., $25 materials fee if cast (no cost to audition).
The Missoula Children's Theatre–-one of the finest arts education groups in the nation-–offers a week of interaction, training and mentoring, July 6-11. Open auditions for students in grades 1-12. Registration is in the lobby, and the audition will be held in the Myre River Room upstairs. All students will audition as a group for Missoula Children's Theatre tour actors and directors. The cast calls for 50-60 students, with an additional four to six serving as assistant directors. Students and their parents/guardians are asked to arrive early to complete audition registration forms and permission slips. Note: If child is cast, rehearsals will be July 6-10, 9:30-2:30 p.m.(the first rehearsal will begin after auditions), and performances will be Saturday, July 11, 2009, 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.Download more info about the auditions, the week-long program, and the two performances.
